Update OS for Domino server (Procedure)

Hi every one,

I need to know the step to move Domino01 from OS to OS

In my case I need to migrate Win2k server to Win2k3 for my Domino server.

what’s the step I need to do?

Any docs for this?

Thanks

Subject: Update OS for Domino server (Procedure)

I’ve upgraded about 30 servers from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 remotely via Remote Desktop. The Windows upgrade keeps all user settings and registry settings, so there is no need to reinstall Domino or change anything. Just run the setup.exe and it will detect that you are a remote user, and thus ask you no questions. It reboots, then does some stuff in DOS mode, then comes back after 30 mins and Windows 2003 is ready to use.

If you’re running Domino as a Windows Service, then you should of course disable the Domino Server Windows Service before starting the Windows upgrade.

Thanks Mika

But if we wants to setup windows on another Box server with win2k3 how does it works?

We want to setup another machine (on VMWare) with new OS win2k3 installation then move Domino server on that box.

Thanks

I would do it so that you first install the Win2k3 on the new server, then move the old Domino installation to the new server, and finally install Domino (including all incremental upgrades) over the copied Domino directory.

Thanks a lot Mika,

Ok but what I need to move?

In my case,

I have

C:\Lotus\Domino\ for the server

and

D:\Lotus\Domino\Data\ for all data

Do I need move both or just Data directory then install server?

what about Notes.ini (c:\Lotus\Domino\notes.ini)?

Thanks
