Update Client Configuration in Person record

Notes Version: 6.5.4 FP3Server platform: iSeries

Cleint platform: Windows 95, 98, and XP

I’ve read numerous posts regarding the updating of client configuration in person record, but I did not find much regarding the 6.x version of Notes.

So, I’ll ask these questions again here:

How can I trigger the “Update Client Config in Person Record” process without having to upgrade the Notes client?

Is it possible to send an email to users containing an action button that would trigger the “Update Client” process?

Or a Desktop policy that would trigger it?

What is Dynamic Config? Is it something I need to setup?

I’ve upgraded a handful of users from 6.5.1 to 6.5.5 recently, the upgrade DID NOT trigger the “Update Client…” process. Should it have?

Without having to visit 1000+ machines, throughout the company I am trying to figure out what version of Notes everyone is on. I can not rely on the Person document, because it does not appear to be accurate.

Thank you.
