Background: I am trying to update a field in the employee document in our employee database. I am atempting to do so via a script when the document is submitted but for some strange reason the script cannot find the document in the employee database. I have attached the script for your review.
Subject: Update a Document field in another Database on the same server
Is the first column in the view in which you are looking sorted?
Also as you are searching for a name could it be that they are being stored in different formats. e.g. one is in the common format and the other canonicalized.

Is the column the first column in the view? Check in designer that there are not any hidden columns.
If not then it must be a problem with the key as the column does not need to be categorised as you are only searching for a single key.
Run through the code in the debugger to check the exact value of the variable LkpName which you are using for the key. Then find the document that it should locate in the target database and check the field in the document properties to see if they are exactly the same.

The column is the first one in the view. I checked and there is no hidden columns. I verified the values and they are the same. To make things sound more stragne, I am using the same key in my dblookups to get data from the database and it works great. I was going to try and get the document ID and store it to my document when the document is created and see if that helps unless you have some other sugestions? Is it possible be locked from writing somehow? I am using a local copy and I am getting the same results.
