I has been working with my 8.01 client since april (a week or two after it was release). Everything was working good (with some exceptions) until today.
After my client open, I usually go to the workspace to look for my production applications that I need to monitor daily, and right know if I click in any of the Tabs or in any of the Application Icons, it do not do anything. I cannot select, highlight or open any application using the mouse on that section. This only happen with the Frame inside the Workspace Tab, look like it is dead.
I am thinking that maybe the workspace needs to be compacted, but there is no way to access it now.
Any ideas of why this happen?

Subject: Fixed … But this is a bug that should be fixed …
I fixed it opening Notes with -SA. In the basic version the workspace worked properly, so I did a compact to the workspace.
After that I when back to the full version and then everything worked good. Is there a way to compact the workspace different than doing right-click?
This kind of things are the ones that are preventing us to upgrade the users. I have issues when I accept or decline a meeting, and this is maybe because I have the designer open, Notes open a window that is like a phantom. It is like a mix between the Eclipse version and the Back-end basic Notes. That window cannot be closed and if I click in some of the tabs, I get switched to the Eclipse version. But the window is still there. The only way to remove that phantom window (or close it) is closing the client and opening again.

Subject: Command-line compact
I’ve never yet experienced an “unresponsive” workspace in any version of Notes, but here’s another way to compact the workspace:
Close all Notes client apps (Notes/Designer/Admin).
Open a command prompt, and go to the Notes installation directory. (With Notes 8, this is probably C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes.).
Type the following command then press Enter:
ncompact desktop6.ndk
When prompted, enter the user’s password, and the workspace will then be compacted (it should only take a few seconds).
You can then close the command prompt, start Notes, and you’re done.
Subject: Calendar issue
I have noticed the calendar issue, where it opens up a second instance of Notes, as well and have posted it here before. I was hopeful when Micehlle Stoner asked for a screen shot, so I posted one, but never got a response. I didn’t even think about it being link to Designer.
