Unreadable emails to an Lotus Domino 6.5.4 mailserver

I have the following problem:

From time to time the recepient of a message receives unreadable emails

  1. The error happens when the text is bigger than about 40kb.

  2. The Error happens only when send to a Lotus Domino Server version 6.5.4

  3. The sender server sends the messages through SMTP.

  4. Destination server settings checked and no problems detected.

Does the user get an error, is the text garbled, can the user not open the email?

The user doesn’t get an error message and the email can be opened, only the text is garbled inside the body of the email.

I’m not sure if it’s a conversion error from MIME (used by SMTP) and Notes native. The Domino server settings seems to be ok.
