Emails are being rec’d, read and then closed. But are still being marked as unread.

We are experiencing the same thing…
In R6.5 - I removed the Desktop5.dsk (yup, upgraded) I removed cache.NDK…
(Ctrl+Shift+F9) didn’t help either.
Anyone have any ideas?
The server is 6.5.1…

Hi we saw the same issue on 2 workstations… whole domain counts 100 users… no cluster… server 6.5.2, clients 6.5.1

I am investigatins somethins simular and has found that replication can be one source for the problem. Look at the database-properties.

The Clients did not replicating any databases…

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Unread marks do not work properly.
They’re better than they’ve ever been in ND6 but still far from perfect.

Are these people using the preview pane? One of my users was and it was still showing up that loads of mails were unread. Go to file, preferences, user preferences. In additional options, check ‘mark documents read when opened in preview pane’. Go back to mail box, mark all read to get the counter back to zero and all should be fine now.

Found this solution in another thread:
Basically you need to enable the database setting “Do not mark modified documents as unread”. In the Notes 6 mailbox mail messages are marked with an icon to show if they have been forwarded or replied to, which Notes sees as a modified document that you haven’t read.
