Unread mail marked as read

I have the standard Lotus Notes setting that has all opened emails in black and unopened emails in red. If there is a block of at least 6 or 7 emails that have not been opened, not been printed out, not even been selected in any way and I select the most recent email, a peculiar thing happens. After closing the email I have selected, either all or some of the other unopened emails have turned from red to black so that I have no idea which ones I have looked at. I have to waste time at the end of every day opening every email for that day still sitting in my in-box just to make sure that I have actually looked at them.

I am in the “All Documents” view everytime this happens. I have reinstalled Notes, created a new mail replica and even replaced the design of the mail, all to no avail. The problem is intermittent and happens once a week. Please help.

Hello, I was wondering if you ever find a solution for this issue. I have had a couple of users that have had this problem for a couple of years and neither I nor IBM can find a solution.

Did you ever find a solution to this ? Exactly the same thing is happening here with about 3 of the 10 users (including myself). We were on Ver 7 and now upgraded to ver 8.0.1 and still it happens
