"Unread Mail" indicators not working?

My email folders no longer indicate that I have unread mail /new messages in them.

When new mail arrived, the individual folders used to “Bold” and a number would indicate # of unread/new messages in each folder.

Now I get notified I have mail, but the folder indicators are not working. I have to go thru each checking to see where the new mail is! Ugh.

Please advise.

Has the On Disk Structure of your mailfile changed? It should be ODS43 for this to work. You can check this on the second tab (marked i ) of the Database Properties - box.

if you’re on a pure ND6 environment this shouldn’t be a problem, btw.

Gerco, he said ‘it used…’… sounds like it was working after the upgrade and now doesn’t. I don’t think the ODS matters either; the functionalirt is in the client/server/template, and not the file structure itself (I think).

You can revert the ODS by running compact with the option ‘keep or revert the database back to R5 format’ from the Admin client. Like Nathan said, ODS does matter in this case. So if someone performed that operation on your mailfile, even on an ND6 server, you’d lose that functionality. Incidentally, his mailfile indeed has the wrong ODS .

It does. This was covered extensively in the Beta forum.

PC Client 6.0.1, Database: ODS 41

Subject: Yup - that’s it

The ODS should be 43. Is your mailfile on an R5 server? ODS doesn’t replicate, but if you created a new replica from an R5 server to an ND6 client, you might need to run compact on local to correct the ODS.
