I have 2 Domino 6.0.1 servers with one under Win2000 with TrendMicro VirusScan.
Everytime i send a attachment with a mail, I get a error : Error transfering message xxx via SMTP to xx.xx.xx.xx Unknown type of compression technique.
Please help I’m getting desperate!!!
I tried passing attachment to UUEncode, changing almost everything, and nothing goes!
I changed nothing I can remember before it worked…

From the fix database:
SPR# GFLY5GXM6Y - If “LZ1 compression for attachments” is used with an email containing an attachment, the following error is returned “unknown type of compression technique”. This problem has been fixed in 6.0.2.

I encountered same problem. all my servers are 6.0.1 as well as my client. Mail boxes and mail files have LZ1 checkbox.

We had this, and the quickest solution is when attaching the file, in the bottom right hand of the attatch file dialog box, you will see a compress box, untick this and you will have no problems.
If anyone knows how to turn this feature off by default then I am keen to know.
Thanks
