Hi,
I am getting an unknown address error when I try to send a mail to my friend. Till yesterday it was working fine, and his mail-id is a valid id. And I am able to send mails to other people in the same domain.
The error message I am getting is
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-‘User unknown’ (delivery attempts: 0)
Can any one help me in resolving this?

Do you type his e-mail address manually or are you pulling it from personal address book? If it is PAB, try removing him from there, send a test message by manually entering the address and, if it works, then re-add him to the PAB.

yes. i had done all these… but still the problem persists.

Have the user send you an e-mail, then reply to it and see if that works.

What should you do?
You can resend the undeliverable document to the recipients listed above by choosing the Resend button or the Resend command on the Actions menu.
Once you have resent the document you may delete this Delivery Failure Report.
If resending the document is not successful you will receive a new failure report.
Unless you receive other Delivery Failure Reports, the document was successfully delivered to all other recipients.

i checked the MX records and did some DNS email testing and nothign came back out of the ordinary.
I sent a test email to that user a couple of hours ago and so far did not get a bounce or a reply.
Is it possible he is blocking email from you or your companies mail filtering software is blocking content but returnign incorrect errors?

The problem is I am not able to send the mail from my notes mail-id alone. But able to send it from any other id. i m very sure that he is not blocking my mail. I want to know how to determine <<“your companies mail filtering software is blocking content but returnign incorrect errors”>>. Is there any way I can change the settings in my lotus notes mail box?
