Unexplained web form saving problems

I have a web form that has a save button with the following code:

@Command([FileSave]);

@Command([FileCloseWindow]);

@Command([ToolsRunMacro];“UpdateEntry”);

I also have a WebQuerySave agent with the following:

@Command([ToolsRunMacro];“Release Document Lock”)

This lets me save the form the first time just great. However, when I go to edit the form on the web and then click the save button again, the changes are not saved. However, if I put this in the WebQuerySave:

@Command([FileSave]);

@Command([ToolsRunMacro];“Release Document Lock”)

it does save the edited form…but I can no longer create a form from scratch. Has anyone else run into this problem before? From the definition of the WebQuerySave method the @Command([FileSave]) should not work.

Thank you for your time.

Meghann,

You can’t save and close the web page and then expect @Command([ToolsRunMacro];“UpdateEntry”); to work. A web page that calls an agent has to stick around and wait for the agent to finish unless you use LotusScript’s NotesSession SendConsoleCommand. If the caller of the agent goes away, the instance of running the agent does too.

thank you Ken, for your answer. I think I have read somewhere what you are saying. However, I think it’s a bit odd that it works one way and not another. I will take your info and go form there. Thanks again.
