I have a user with Shared Login working. When the user select Security-User Security Notes prompt for the user to enter “Windows” password. But, for some reason when the user enters the password Notes won’t take. If one can’t get in “User Security” then one can not change password or see/set any of the security settings. Anyone know what could be wrong?
Subject: Try this debug ini variable
If you set DebugNSL=1 in the user’s notes.ini, debug messages about the Windows password verification will be written to the user’s log.nsf. Please set this ini value, have the user try again, and post the debug messages you find. Thanks.
Subject: nothing was logged
I added the debug variable in the Notes ini but nothing was logged. It prompts for Windows password. When I type in the AD password it won’t take it and warn me about case sensitive. I then type in Notes password, same thing. I checked local log.nsf and it did not log anything. What else can we try?
Subject: hmm
Just to be sure, did you restart Notes after entering the ini setting? Also, we are talking about Notes Shared Login, right? In your previous post, you mentioned entering the Notes ID password. When you’re using Notes Shared Login, the user doesn’t know the password for the Notes ID.

Subject: But, isn’t the Windows login the same as the login to the Active Directory?
I mean the user can already login into Windows through corporate AD login. Once the user is in then the user can open Notes without having to log into Notes. That tells me Shared Login is working. But, then if the user wants to check the security setting, won’t the “Windows” login be the same as the AD login?
