I am running the all client version of Notes (client, admin, and designer)I downloaded CZ5ZJEN.exe, the upgrade to 8.5.1 for All Client, but every time I run it, terminates the install by saying: “You must have a version of Notes 8.5 installed to upgrade”.
I even tried just the client install upgrade, and that gives me the error that I have to use the “All Client installation.” This latter installtion obviously knows that notes installed and which version but not the one I need.
Any suggestions? Do I just do a clean uninstall and reinstall?
Below are details of my notes.in from my present installation.
You say you are already running Allclient 8.5 on the machine. How did it get on that machine? The upgrade kit installer checks for the previous version before it will allow the upgrade to proceed. If you xcopied (or something else) Notes on to the machine then the upgrade will not detect it and will not allow the upgrade to proceed.
You can not install the Notes only product on top of the Allclient product by design. This is not a supported upgrade. You need to uninstall the Allclient version of Notes and download a full install kit not the upgrade kit if you want to switch
I’m not sure what you mean by “xcopy”. The current installation was done using the full 8.5 Notes_Designer_Admin.exe which I downloaded from passport advantage, ran a local installation, no smart upgrade or anything fancy.
I definitely do not want to install the only client version. But I would prefer not to uninstall what I have to reinstall “notes_designer_admin_851_w32_CZ5S0EN.exe” which I already have.
I suppose I could just copy my data folder and bite the bullet.
