Unable to relay for address@domain.nl

Hi all,

We have been migrating our Domino Server/Clients from R6.5 to R8.5, so far so good.

But still we have troubles with the SMTP relaying of send mail from Notes application to the MAIL.BOX. We get this error:

Error transferring to VPS-SERVER1; SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for peterpan@planet.nl

The mail remains in the MAIL.BOX.

After days of testing an trying I found out that all mail has the Signer/Domain as the recipient instead of the value from the ‘sendto’ field.

Is there something I overlooked? We did not change any code in the mailprogram. So it must be something in the serverdocument.

Any ideas will be appreciated.

Subject: Unable to relay for address@domain.nl

This is ofcourse a valid name, since the message has been replied to myself. It seems that Domino failed to connect to the SMTP server (Windows Server 2008) and sent back the message.

Still pending is the question: why was the relay to being denied?

Who has the answer?
