I have deployed a number of private on first use views so that users could have a “my” view that could be on the server without the conflict of multiple users in the same shared view. My problem is that for users who access the application from both a laptop and the server the “my” views are not in synch, meaning they do not show the same documents. The server copy is not showing all documents. This can be fixed by rebuilding the view index (Shift+F9), but the user does not have the rights, they get a security warning “You are not authorized to perform that operation.” which they do not get on the local client. The view index settings are Auto refresh after first use, discard after 45 days, not to restrict to designer or manager. I can delete the private views to force a rebuild but would prefer another method. I have maintenance/program documents to rebuild indexes but they do not seem to work on private views.
