Hi,
Our CEO is trying to send e-mail to an outside recipient, but when he does, he gets a delivery failure with the error message “Unable to read .courier file”. I have not seen this error ever before, and the searches I’ve done haven’t turned up much. Does anyone know what this error means? Any advice would be great…maybe just something to point me in the right direction…Thanks!

Thanks, Brian. I saw that on Google as well, but it didn’t really give me any indication where the breakdown is happening, whether it’s the Domino SMTP relay, the Firewall, or if it’s a message from the recipient’s mail server. If you come across anything else in your travels, let me know…Thanks!

My guess the problem is on the target mail system (on Linux). The courier file is on the target system and it sounds like that mail server could not read the file for that particular user. Perhaps if you can talk to the mail admin for the target mail system he can shed some light. If there is nothing wrong with the user’s file then perhaps there is a break down in communication, like you suggested in their firewall where two different standards are being used.
