Unable to paste Cyrillic text from Acrobat

Hi

I have a Cyrillic PDF and when I cut and paste text from it into Word it’s fine – proper Cyrillic. When I cut and paste text from the PDF and paste directly into a Notes RTF I get a mishmash of random accented characters. However, if I copy from Acrobat, paste into Word and then copy what I pasted in Word and paste that into the Notes RTF, it’s fine!

When I copy from Word and paste into Notes RTF and click in the Cyrillic text (which is fine) the font box says “Arial Cyr” and all the other Arials for other langauges pop up in the font list, but copying from Acrobat directly and then pasting into Notes RTF the font box just says Default Sans Serif?

How do I copy directly from Acrobat and paste to Notes RTF?

TIA

Does your font list show the Arial Cyr by default (before you paste the text into the RTF from Word)? Or is that “copied” into Notes’s font list after the text is copied into the RTF?

The reason I ask is because I don’t have that font by default in my Notes fonts and I wonder if it is not somehow dynamically added.

Hi Cesar

On another PC, I see the new fonts appearing like Times Roman Cyrillic and other Times Roman, as follows:

When you start the client, none of these are there. If you copy Cyrillic text from Acrobat and paste to Notes RTF, then you get random accented chars and the font box does not show any new fonts being installed/copied.

When you copy the Cyrillic text from Acrobat 7 to Word, then copy from Word and then paste to a new mail message RTF field, the Cyrillic is displayed properly and it seems the fonts are dynamically added. However, they do not show up for me until I create another mail message, for example, and then look at the text fonts in the properties box and I see them.

My problem is how to copy Cyrillic or other languages directly from Acrobat and paste to Notes RTF?

Thanks
