I have a database that I want to make it as a design template.
However, everytime I input the template name in the database properties, the template name is always disappeared. Here is what I did:
-
I opened database properties and went to the template tab
-
I entered the template name and click on the checkmark, making sure that the template name is saved.
-
I closed the database properties dialog box.
-
I re-opened the database properties dialog box and went to the template tab. But the template name is gone.
My database extension is nsf, which I don’t think is the cause of the problem.
Anybody have a workaround?
Thanks in advance.
Subject: Unable to make a database a design template
This has happened to me as well and the only thing I can attribute it to is the id I was using. The id I use for development is not listed in the ACL explicity, but given manager rights using */dev/company. When I switch to my personal id, which is listed explicity in the ACL, I can set the template name.

You must have the right to set a template name. This right has to be set explicitly in the Server Document.(Open Domino Administrator, select server, go to server document, tab “security”. There is a line where the names of people /ids who have this right has to be entered.)

Ah - got it. I guess because my personal id is a Full Access Administrator I could set the template name without being listed in that field. Thanks

Thanks a lot. After setting the field in the server document, I am able to set the template. Again thanks a lot for your help.
