If we follow the instructions for install a single user the notes standard will not launch.
entering login cred.
the spalsh screen comes up loading to disappear after a while.
Then if we send a mail to this user you get the noteice that you got a new mail. (Fun…)
If we install it as a multi user install it works. But we dont want it as a multi user install.
We can always run -sa (basic), works always.
Seems to be something with the framework folder…
Anyone got a tip for us?

I am having the same problem. Just a few days ago I found several log files in the \Lotus\Notes\Data\Workspace folder that revealed:
N:\Apps\Lotus\Notes\framework\rcp\startcollector.bat (Access is denied.)
This error is showing that write access is required to the Framework folder during the launch of the Notes client, since the framework folder has the eclipse component and plugins necessary for the Standard client to run, thus explaining the splash screen issue. Since that folder is not accessible, the workspace folder was not created properly or likely missing some key files,
The only workarounds are to give the user’s proper access (local admin access temporarily) or bringing this locally or having a new (known working) workspace folder copyed out during the upgrade, this is a software ( windows privilege / rights issue at this time.
I have given a user Loacal Admin access to a single Citrix Server and had that user launch the Lotus 8.5 standard client from that Citrix server and the client upgrade completed successfully and I finally got past the splasj screen issue. Not the perfect solution but enough to allow me to continue with a 8.5 pilot project. I am told this is possibly fixed in 8.5.1.
