Unable to access directories below DATA directory

I have two unrelated Domino 6.0.3 servers setup. I am administrator of both. One was setup for xSP mode. I have cross-certified (following instructions for creating safe.id for Postal Mail) so I can access the xSP server from my other server with one ID. I did the cert.id, server.id and the user.id this way.

The xSP has two organizations setup. The main organization and another in a directory below the Data directory. I can access everything on the xSP server with my ID from the other server, except anything that is not in the DATA directory. I cannot access the \mail directory nor the {second organization} directory. If I switch to the admin.id of the xSP I have full access. I have added my user info to xSP server doc in all places that it would apply to administer/access. I have manually added my username to the ACL of the databases below the DATA subdirectory as manager.

Any ideas why I can’t see below the DATA directory?

When I try to access it, a window pops up and says “Database {ABC} cannot be found” Look for Database on server (then a dropdown with servers listed). I choose the xSP server and I get “Database is currently open - it cannot be renamed, removed or deleted”

Are you sure the “directories” under your the Domino Data directory are not actually directory links (directoryname.dir). Those text files can have an ACL itself, the first line of those files point to the physical directory on the OS file system, and the rest of lines define the ACL of the directory, who can access it.

To complete this post: I opened Administrator went to Files and selected the directory on the left panel then did a right click and selected “Manage Directory ACL”. I added my user name and it gave me access.

Cool, I am doing it from DOS using notepad.exe though, who needs Domino Administrator :stuck_out_tongue:
