i upgraded my domino from R5 to R6 and now the problem isw that i am unable to access my old database when i try to open my old database file thru domino admin from server i get this message "THE DATABASE HAS LOCAL ACCESS PROTECTION AND YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO ACCESS IT LOCALLY"
where as i can access the new database thru new id and one more thing i dont have old id as the server name is renamed.
is there ne way to access the old database.

Are you using the Administration Client on the same machine as the Server??
You also make it out as though you are using a server.id
If the database is stored on an R6 server, use the Full Administrator Access feature in the Admin Client to open the database. Then enter yourself and an admin ID into the ACL so it does not occur in the future.
(Not sure how this reacts if the admin client is installed on the same box, try using the Admin Client on your PC to access the server\database)

Hi, Your database has encryption settings for a particular id thats why u r not able to open the local database.Pls see in help about ECl.U will understand.

Thanx for suggestion but now when i try 2 open the database it shows"CANT OPEN DTABES XYZ.NSF SINCE DATABASE NEEDS CONSISTENCY CHECK
is there ne clue 2 this

Requires Consistancy check, means that you need to run a Fixup on the database.

I tried with fixup but still problem persists ne other option
