Yes, you cannot create a Calendar item yet. We’re working on that for a future release.

I mean to sync my bloody iphone. Companion link is killing me and I can’t create calendar items on the road… Yikes…

Any idea on the release date?

Subject: Lotus Notes Traveler I-Phone support

Support for I-Phone through the native built in Active Sync functionality will be included in Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.1 which will ship with and pre-req Domino Server 8.5.1. The current release target is early 4th quater 2009.

No offense but I’ll believe it when I see it. Search through the 8 forums and you’ll see it was said by Lotus for months to be a part of the 8.5 update. Now that 8.5 is out with no new calendar feature they say “4th quarter 2009 in 8.5.1”. And when 8.5.1 comes out it will be “ 2010 in 8.6”.

Subject: Big surprise…still no full calendar support

I know I’m late on this, but 8.5.1 is out and unless I’m completely missing it, there is still NO full calendar support for the iPhone. I’m running 8.5.1 Domino Server, 8.5.1 Traveler and my mail template is 8.5 (there didn’t seem to be a new template with 8.5.1, it still shows as being v8.5. I replaced my existing 8.5 design with the “new” 8.5 template after upgrading the server to 8.5.1 just to be sure anyway.) And as expected, when I view my calendar there is still no way to add/remove entries. Like I said in my post, this feature is vaporware and I believe it’s never going to happen. I just wish Lotus would come out and say that instead of promising it as part of the “next version” time and time again. I’m quite sure we can go back to some of my posts in the 7 forums where I was told it was going to be in 8.0. Then 8.0 came and it was part of 8.0.1, then 8.0.2, then it was DEFINITELY going to be in 8.5. And you can see above where we were told it was going to be in 8.5.1.
