UI Problems on Mac

I am having two different issues, one that has been here since the private beta for 8.5 and is still here with the public beta.

1.) Clean install of Lotus Notes 8.5 Public Beta on Mac OS X 10.5.3. User can not use the right mouse button to open any context menus. This seems to occur after the System and Desktop policies are applied from the Domino server.

2.) Again on a clean install of Lotus Notes 8.5 Public Beta on Mac OS X 10.5.3… You can not get a listing of applications under a folder. Whether local or on a server. This also appears to be an issue after the application of the system and desktop policies from our servers.

We do use organizational policies, but there is nothing in a policy that I can see that would cause this behavior. i should also point out that this does not occur with Notes 8.0.1 which is connecting to the same servers and using the exact same policies.

I have not yet tried 8.5 on Windows to see if this is specific to Mac or not. But I brought this up during the private beta and was told that no one else could reproduce it. So either I am crazy or there is an interaction here that no one else has ever seen or tested.

i am posting this in the sincere hopes that Lotus does test this and finds the problem before this ships.

Subject: Right Mouse Button

I had a problem with right mouse clicking in the previous beta and it was due to having the option “Right Double Click closes Windows” on in notes preferences. You may want to check if that is on and turn it off to see if that resolves the problem.

Subject: OK, That is sort of a fix.

Thanks for the tip on the Right Double Click thing. Hopefully, Lotus will fix that.

I still need the other question resolved. But, I am ever hopefull that there is an answer to this.

Thank you for doing this… I sincerely hope that this does get resolved. I would be willing to provide any information I can about this issue as needed.

Subject: It is fixed in main stream build that if “Right Double Click closes Windows” on in notes preferences is checked, right click will not pop up context menu.

The fix is merged into V85_05302008 of main stream build.
