UI Functionality Issue

A few problems I’ve noticed in my first evening working with the beta:

  1. In designer, create a new app. Create 2 agents. Dbl-click the 2nd agent to open for editing. Go back to the agent list. Right-click the 2nd agent, click ‘Run’.

The 1st agent runs, not the 2nd.

I’ve tested numerous ways, but it seems that when I switch to the agent list, a right-click always runs the first agent unless I have left-clicked another agent first.

  1. Deletes not working in Client - I tried deleting a few hundred documents, with the standard select/delete/f9. It all selected, and the message at the bottom said ‘hit f9’, but f9 did nothing. No deletes, no UI updates at all.

  2. Cutting a large number of documents crashes client. After the deleting failed, I just cut documents as a workaround – I tried cutting over 2500 documents, and the client crashed.

  3. Expected errors do not show. (Is this just because the beta isn’t complete yet?) When trying to open an app fails (for example, while it is compacting), I only get an error about 25% of the time. Likewise, after a client crash, if I try to restart notes and it fails due to old processes that are still running, I get no error. It just doesn’t start. When I first set up the server, I tried just double-clicking the icon after the install, expecting it to work the old way, where it pops up the configuration program. But it did not, and I received no error telling me what the problem was. I did find the config program and get running, but it would be helpful to inform folks of the appropriate next step.

On the positive side, I’m very pleased with the overall UI and performance of both the client and server. Things look like they will be great once the kinks are all worked out.

Subject: Symptoms, not root cause

After another day of working with the system, I think my previous problems may have been symptoms of something wrong with my environment:

I found that none of the Dojo functions were working. I have a 1.1.0 dojo directory on the server, not a 1.1.1 as is mentioned elsewhere. Is this correct for a 64 bit Windows server?

My designer client also started kicking out these errors:

“Can not create a Resource at the location: jnsf:/Server/App.nsf/bin”.

Does that help anyone know what might be wrong with my setup?

Thanks…
