Type ahead feature in 8.5

I noticed that the type ahead feature in 8.5 beta 2 will only look at my personal and recent contacts. I get no display of the names of Bill, for example, in my public directory.

I have “Recipient name lookup” set to “Exhaustively check all address books” in my location document.

However it will not display the names of “Bill” in my public directory.

Now, I have the same location document configured on my 8.0.1 client and it works great!

The client will search my local contacts, recent contacts and public directory for the name Bill.

Is this occurring in 8.5 client because its still in beta and will be corrected in the gold release? If not is there a notes.ini or preference that can be used to enable this feature again??

Subject: The only change from 8.01 to now is to limit the searching on remote address books for performance reasons to a maximum of 50 hits. The retrieved hits are than ordered by there Recent Contacts weighting and displayed in the dropdown. This 50 max should only impact very vague requests.

R8.5.1. XP

Type-ahead is only returning local address book suggestions.

I have to click on the bottom suggested entry “Search Directory for …” to get my PAB address suggestions.

I have checked the “Do not automatically add names to the Recent Contacts view” and have deleted all entries in the (Recent Contacts) view.

Why is this not working?

Subject: Same issue here

We are using 8.5.1 mail template on 8.5 and 8.5.1 clients on Windows XP.

This problem persists only on several computers, others are fine. All settings are set as on computers that do work ok.
