When composing a new e-mail message my users frequently type in a portion of someone’s name and then hit the comma or return key to auto-complete the person’s full name. This functionality does not seem to work as expected in Standard 8.5.1 (running on XP). We type in a portion of someone’s name, hit enter or comma and nothing happens. I then try to Tab key out of the field and that doesn’t work either. If I manually take my mouse and click out of the To: (or CC or BCC) fields and click into another field (Body or whatever), it fills in the person’s name. It seems like a lot of keyboard functionality has been removed from 8.5.x. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I can reproduce it at will on every computer I have 8.5.1 installed on.

What are the values for the following fields?
- Location Document → Mail tab:
a. Activate recipient name type-ahead:
b. Recipient name lookup:
- User Preferences → Basic Notes Client Configuration → Additional Options → “Disable type-ahead for all name fields and use the Notes Basic type-ahead.”
- Is this checked or unchecked?

This was unchecked. I checked it and my type-ahead problems have disappeared. I can now type a portion of someone’s last name again, hit comma and it auto-fills. Thanks for the information, I had no clue that option was even there.
Subject: Same issue
We have the same issue here, but it only seems to happen to people who don’t use the “Recent Contacts” feature. In 8.5 this did work.
