I managed to delete all the contacts in my “Recent contacts” view due to another issue. After I did that, the type-ahead feature doesn’t work.
NOW: I start typing an address and it will only show either a entry from my Personal Address Book or “Search directory for ”. If I press “Search directory for <>” then I get a list of addresses containing the letters I wrote.
BEFORE: as soon as I started typing addresses, it would show me all addresses containing the letters, including people from my Recent Contacts and who don’t work with us anymore.
I also noticed that I don’t have the field “Recipient name type-ahead” on my location document.
What can I do?

The following setting in the preferences will cause the type ahead field in the location doc to disappear.From R8.0.1 Standard client help:
To disable the new type-ahead for names
Click File > Preferences.
Macintosh OS X users: Click Lotus Notes > Preferences.
Click Basic Notes Client Configuration.
Under Additional Options, select Disable type-ahead for all name fields and use the Notes Basic type-ahead.
Click OK.
The option noted above will prevent the field from showing up in the location doc.
if this option is “checked” the field shows up, however is the option is “unchecked” the field does not show up.
Try checking this field to see if the option comes back and perhaps is disabled.
