Two Groups with the same name no longer an option

In Notes 8 and beyond, IBM has created new verifications such that you can no longer have two groups with the same name, even if one is ACL ONLY and the other MAIL ONLY. Which is a requirement I currently have.

I’ve found the Verification Code that they use to check for unique names. But the code doesn’t take into consideration what group type your creating. I can not see any harm in having two groups with the same name if one is set to ACL ONLY, and the Other set to MAIL ONLY. Can anyone else? Has anyone altered there verification code with success?

I am guessing is has something to do with the dynamic policies.

If they changed it, its for something.

The group type is just for quicker indexing and performance. I haven’t seen anything posted about the security but I could be wrong.

I suggest opening a PMR.
