Two Domino Domains on one server

I have an existing server with a current domain. I have a need to add mail files, address book with totally different domain to our server. I do not want to combine the two domains. I want them to remain separate, be able to communicate with each other but still function separately. Is this do-able? And, if so, where is there a step-by-step procedure to show me how? Redbooks, etc? I have searched the forum and the internet and have not found anything yet. Your help is appreciated. Thank you.

What do you understand for Domain?

Internet domain? Eg. You have domain.com and want to add domain2.com?

Domino Domain? This will be unlikely unless you have a very big organization and want to route through that.

Organization? You have User/ORG and want to add User/ORG2.

All of them are possible. They just have different implications and deployment strategy.

Subject: Two Domino Domains

It is two domino domains… we have two companies that are going to share one server. So joe user/information services/ABC and James user/information services/DEF. Two separate domino domains (orgs) using one server. They will need to be able to receive emails as james user@def.com and joe user@abc.com, register users under their own orgs, etc.

Subject: I would go with partitioning

It is not an ideal situation but it will accomplish the separation of Domains on one physical server

Yes, I think it would be better to separate everything. It would be a little harder to administer.

I have a couple of customers that have several organizations inside the same server with no problems but depending on your routing you could have some problems configuring each option for each domain.

Subject: Have you looked at partitioning?

It’s not the best solution (especially in Windows environment) but it could work. You can have two seperate Domino Domains, seperate Domino servers on one physical box.

Can you give more details on why you want to do this?
