Hi there,
our users are on 8.5 Basic client.
I’ve found information in the help files on how to switch off the instant spellcheck ( where you have the wavy red lines on words that notes doesn’t recognise).
However - in the basic client, you do not have the option under TOOLS - Instant Spell Check, to turn off. The option is greyed out.
My users are getting irritated by the function but I can’t seem to turn it off.
Anyone got a solution please?

Subject: Preferences Spell Check
Instant spell checking is an edit level action. The option is “grayed out” until you are in edit mode in the basic or standard client.
To enable/disable at a client level:
Standard Client bring up “File->Preferences” and select “Spell Check” look for attribute “Enable Instant Spell checking”
Basic Client bring up “File->Preferences->User Preferences” and expand International tab. Select “Spell Check” look for attribute “Enable Instant Spell checking”
