Trigger to update certificates into ID file

Does anyone know the trigger to place updated certificates into an ID file? My ID was recently recertified twice, once using an old certificate and then later the same day using proper one (both times using the CA process). Now, my ID file gets refreshed back and forth between the two certificates. Both certificate requests are shown in the admin4.nsf database. Would deleting the bad request from the database stop the ID from flip-flopping between the two or is there another location I need to look at?

Subject: certlog.nsf

Take a look in certlog.nsf - Delete any invalid entries.

Subject: The certlog is no longer in use as we are using the CA process.
