Trial Client and ODBC

I have an old .nsf file that I would like to export the data from into SQL.

I have the trial version of Notes Running (9.0) and Installed a few versions of Notes SQL or the newer ODBC driver (ODBC for Notes 9.0).

The Notes Client works perfectly, but when I try to install Notes SQL or ODBC, I get the following message: Setup cannot locate a supported version of the required Notes or Domino Software.

I have played with changing my PATH settings - but couldn’t get the install to work.

My question is: can Notes SQL or ODBC be used with a trial version of Notes Client?

If it can, then I need some serious help with environmental variables, maybe registry settings. Any help would be appreciated.

Subject: 64bit?

Could it be that you were accidentally trying to use 64bit versions of the ODBC driver? AFAIK, the Notes client (being 32bit) can only be used with 32bit drivers.
Also, there are posts in this forum containing suggestions and workarounds regarding the ODBC driver. If you haven’t tried any of those, you may want to check them out.

I do not think this is a limitation of the trial version.

Subject: Next Step

Thank you for the answer.

I was able to install the 32 bit driver and create a data source - but when I try to use it in Excel or Access - I get the following error: IBM ODBC Driver for Notes/Domino 9.0 (win32) has stopped working

Any idea on the cause of the issue? How can I check if I set up the data source correctly?

Any help appreciated.

Thank you.

Well, I’m no way an expert in this area. My own experience with Notes SQL dates back to much older versions (back in the Notes R5 days…) Maybe the following link can help you?
