Traveler & WinMo 6.1 - random Journal notes changing to RTF coding

Anyone know if this is a Traveler problem or is it purely down to Windows Mobile?

Traveler set up and working for a while now on an HTC Touch Pro but hadn’t bothered setting Journal to sync. Client upgraded from R7 so still Journal.nsf but has R8.5.1 Notebook design.

Went into mailfile and chose Actions → Lotus iNotes → Synchronize Notebook - and a few seconds later all my Journal entries appeared on the phone. Great!

Problem:

10min later I did the same thing and noticed that a number of entries had synced back from the phone even though I hadn’t even read any of the notes on it.

When I opened these docs the body had changed to MS RTF coding and were completely unreadable.

Tried changing every setting I can find on the phone between wiping and starting again but no joy.

Main thing I’m stumped on is whether this is purely the phone doing something undesirable on its own or whether it’s modifying these docs as a reaction to something it doesn’t like about how Traveler has written them.

Any help much appreciated.

Subject: Seeing the same thing

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I’m seeing the same thing on winmo 6.5 with traveler and inotes sync of the journal to the mail file. Damn annoying as you don’t tend to notice it until you access one of the corrupted memos and then it’s usually major manual work finding what else has been corrupted and trying to selectively restore things.

Subject: Same thing

we also get corrupt journal entries on server with rtf encoding if users had activated the drawing function on wm devices. Is there a solution for this ?
