Traveler will not install on IOS 4.0.2

I discovered that if you update your iPhone 3g to IOS 4.0.2 and then try to make the Traveler setup via web (Traveler 8.01), it will not work (works fine with IOS 4.0.1 and earlier). It seems like the web browser either blocks the new profile or has a problem reading it. I tried Opera mobile, but it would not accept my certificate, then the Atomic Web browser, did not work either. I then generated a profile from my PC and sent the profile-file as an attachment in an e-mail to a Hotmail account, opened Hotmail via the iPhone web browser and tried to open the file from there, same problem. I then configured the iPhones mail client for Hotmail, synchronized the e-mails and then tried to run the profile from the mail client, and that worked!!

This workaround works but it is not a way I would like to deploy traveler to my users. Do anyone have an alternative solution?

One user with iPhone 4 lost connectivity, upgrade to iOS 4.1, now nothing. Traveler setup appears to work but user is never created in Traveler on the server and we can see errors in the Web Server Log:

Subject: Got Traveler working

Per Apple support we reset the iPhone using iTunes then selected “Set up as a new iPhone” then repeated the Traveler setup. And it’s now working! But we still don’t know why we had to resort to this.
