Traveler sync error

We have a situation where mail and calendar entries are being synchronised on the wrong mobile phone.

As for an example I have these two users with the following info

User1:

Name: User One

Mail file: user1.nsf

IMEI : 111111

User2:

Name: User Two

Mail file: user2.nsf

IMEI : 222222

This is a sample log file which shows that mail & calendar entries of User1 are being pushed to phone which belongs to User2

Traveler Log:

Domino Log:

We have been running Taveler for almost 2 months now and this incident only happened twice. It is also tied to a particular user (in my example user one), where his mail file is being synchronised with all (12 in all) the other traveler users and vice versa. It does cure itself after restarting the domino service.

It could be a coincidence but this has happened after the administrator issued the command:

25/05/2009 15:52:52 Remote console command issued by Administrator/mydom: tell traveler Push flagsAdd serviceability configGet * *

tell traveler Push flagsAdd serviceability configGet * *

Did anyone ever experience such problems ? We have suspended the traveller service for now since we are nowhere near confident in trusting the service.

Thanks

Evan

Domino Version 8.5 HF211

Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.0.1 Build 200902181237

Phones: Nokia with 8.5.0.1 200903261513

Subject: I can confirm this problem!

I have also experienced this error.

I also issued the command ‘tell traveler Push flagsAdd serviceability configGet * *’ in a struggle to have clients pick up an explisit policy.

The NAB had no prior modifications to the configurations for this server. I did some policy changes though…

Subject: Traveler sync wrong data

We have reproduced and are working on a fix. We should have something posted to Fix Central in about 2 weeks. In meantime I would refrain from using that Tell command. Please check this technote in a week or two to see if fix is availble. Be sure to read the readme files as fixes are cumulative, so the particular fix may be listed in the readme file and not listed in the technote itself.

Subject: Traveler syncs wrong user

Traveler uses the Domino APIs to determine which database to sync for a particular user. From the logs it looks like Domino was returning the same database for all users. We are curious if you made any changes to the NAB or other Domino Configurations prior to this happening. Possibly the Domino API is not able to dynamically adjust to certain types of NAB changes, and restarting would certainly resolve an issue like this. If you did make any kind of changes to the NAB please let us know so we can attempt to reproduce.

Thanks.

Subject: Traveler syncs wrong user

After the first incident, I did an offline ncompact-D and nupdall-R on the names.nsf, but this didn’t help since it happened the second time.

We had upgraded domino from 8.5 to 8.5 HF211 after the first week of using traveler.

I also noticed that when i stop traveler service and after stop http service, i get the following in my console:

25/05/2009 16:47:34 Remote console command issued by Administrator/mydom tell traveler quit

tell traveler quit

25/05/2009 16:47:35 Lotus Traveler: Server stopping…

The “Waiting for session to finish” keeps going on and on and it seems to never stop unless i don’t give domino a restart.

Another thing, one of the effected traveler users is using a Nokia E66 which is also configured as a SIP phone via wlan.

Subject: We have detected the same problem

I have just detected a similar problem. We are running these versions:

Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.0.1 Build 200812191006 running on Lotus Domino server Release 8.5 HF211|March 27, 2009

The NAB had no prior modifications.
