I’m having problems setting up a users Windows Mobile (smartphone) 6.1 device to use our Lotus Traveler server.
I can connect to mail server and have downloaded and installed the Traveler Client. The problem comes when authenticating with the mail server.
I consistently get a “Cannot Authenticate User (401)” error. As far as I can tell the user name and password are correct (they work for the “standard” webmail login. We have other users who are using Traveler on a variety of devices.
The device is a HTC Snap.
The problem is compounded by the admin who normally deals with Traveler being on extended leave and no notes being left…
Any Help?
Subject: Traveler authentication
Sorry to hear you are having problems. Try logging into HTTP://hostname/servlet/traveler using a web browser and see if you can get in. this often will give a better error message if the user is locked out etc.
If that works try from the browser on the device. Lockout scenarios include:
-
User is listed in the Internet Lockout Database on the Domino Server.
-
User is not specifically granted or is specifically denied access on the LotusTraveler Tab of the Server Document.
-
User has been locked out by an administrator in the LotusTraveler.ntf admin database via a Wipe action and no one has issued a clear wipe for that user.
Check these - hopefully this will help.
