Traveler delete slow, locks up phone

Using traveler on my Android 2.1 phone, it seems the process to delete messages in my inbox is very slow. I can check the messages and click the delete button fine, but the actual delete process locks up my phone for sometimes 30 seconds or more. When the process is done everything is fine again.

Deleting is the only traveler process that seems to lag on my phone. I have even tried turning off deletion acknowledgement to see if it can speed things up, but it has no effect.

Is this a known issue with traveler for android? Are there any workarounds?

I have the same problem on an Android v2.2 phone.

Why don’t you mention what phone it is.Android is more than the pure Version number.

I have an Samsung Galasy S with Android 2.2

Subject: SGS

I was expecting this. There are plenty of users complaining about lags on the samsung which seem to be caused by the filesystem used.K-9 Mail had similar problems in my case.

You should see the forum at xda-developers.com.

See if you can upgrade to 2.2.1 Firmware. 2.2.1 works much better for me (Or read into the lagfixes)

They sent me a test patch which has somewhat improved the delete response time, however it is still unacceptable.

The development team continues to work on the issue.

Is the delete only slow for mail or also calendar?

Are you syncing a very large number of records? If so, could you try reducing the filter range to reduce the number of records? I am wondering if this is related to having so many records that the DB indexes are not performing well.

Also, are you storing data on the storage card or phone memory? Phone memory is generally faster … though there are some faster memory cards available that you could try (perhaps if the one you have does not have a fast rating).
