Traveler - Could not Connect error installing on iPhone

Hi folks,

I’m having a bit of fun getting Traveler up and running in my production environment, after a problem-free test install lulled me into a false sense of security. Hopefully this is a simple error that I’m making and somebody can point me in the right direction.

I have set up my Traveler server, following the doco and it appears to be running properly.

Over the weekend I connected one iPhone to it, and got the following error message:

Could not connect

Connection to the server for account “” could not be established. This may be due to an authentication error.

I hit ignore, and installation continued and everything seemed to work, but this didn’t inspire confidence, so I wiped the iPhone and then tried to install again.

This time around, I’m getting the “Could not connect” error again, but if I tap “Ignore” I get stuck at the “Installing Profile” screen and it seems content to just stay there for at least 15 minutes. I don’t know if it’s pulling something down or it is just giving up.

Any pointers? I’d definitely like to get rid of the “Could not connect” error because this makes things very messy for my (sometimes very picky) users.

Cheers,

Brendan

Subject: Solved!

Oh, I’m feeling a little silly at this point in time, but I thought I should post this in case anybody has the same problem that I did.

I grabbed a second iPhone and everything installed without a hitch. Then I checked the Traveller server in Domino Administrator and noted that the first iPhone was disabled in the “Device Security” view as a result of the remote wipe that I had performed. Silly me. Clearing the wipe status opened things up and allowed me to install successfully.
