Hello,
I’ve installed Lotus Traveler on a additional Domino 8.5 server. The mail-server is a Linux machine. Two of the four mobile devices give an error. It doens’t seem to be OS dependable. Since one of the devices is a Nokia S60 device, and the other a Windows mobile 6 (smartphone) device.
The working devices are also one Nokia and one WM6 device.
The problem is that when syncing the e-mail, everything works, no errors, perfect. But when we switch on ‘Calendar/Task’ replication, the device keeps on asking for a user ID + password. When cancelled there is an unknown error. Even the server and mobile device logs (even on severe logging), repeats the same message.
I did see a ‘proxy timed out’ notice in the mobile log, but that seems impossible.
Already tried the following:
-
Re-installing client software on mobile device.
-
Replacing data option in LNT client software (same unknown user error).
-
Fixup / compact / replace design on the mailboxes.
-
Installed LNT 8.5.0.1 fixpack.
-
Mailboxes and ACL Rights, NAB entry’s of the four users seems to be the same.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this problem?
Thanks in advance!
Sincerely,
Ferdi Verlaan
Subject: re: Traveler calendar/tasks not synchronizing
This is not a known issue. You said this works fine on two devices but does not work on two devices correct? Are you in a posisiton to submit a problem report with IBM - we would be interested in investigating this further.
This Info Center topic is a good resource for determining which files to submit as part of a problem report:

You can open a report in either of these methods:

Corey, I will send in a PMR.It seems to be a OS independable probleem, indeed.
Another problem has occurred, the Alarm sound for appointment doens’t go off anymore for a WM6 device. Uninstalled Traveler, and voila alarm sound is back…
Should I send another PMR?
Subject: Solution
The support guys of Lotus Notes did their job. It was due to a timeout setting in the traveler or proxy configuration. (In other words; the calendars were to big :-)) Are you using a Firewall/Proxy, and do you have the control over it ?
In this case, would you have a chance to increase the time before time-out from 30 to 60 seconds and see if this makes a change ?
Snippet from the reply of Lotus Support:
The other option is to decrease traveler’s limit on how long it will wait before it returns it’s packet.
This can be found in the \data\traveler\cfg\NtsConfig.xml file :
You could change these values to something like:
And then restart traveler.
