Traveler and iPhone

Does anyone know the current status of the Traveler version for iPhone? I’ve seen the announcement, but havn’t seen an exact delivery date.

There seems to be quite a bit of confusion around Traveler and UltraLite, two distinctly different products. One of my customers had an online chat today with IBM; here is the transcript:

Tulsie: Hello. How can I assist you today?

you: i have a question about iphone integration with lotus notes

you: is it possible yet in the newest release?

Tulsie: Yes, Lotus Notes 8.5

Tulsie: Comes with Ultralite to transfer data to iPhone

you: so you just have to download ultra lite on to the iphone and connect it to the server?

you: basically

Tulsie: Ultralite get installed on the desktop - iNotes get installed on the iPhone, from there you sync the 2

you: perfect that is what I was looking for. thank you!

See what I mean? My understanding is that Traveler for iPhone will come in Domino 8.5.1 later this year. Can anyone comment on this?

Unfortunately IBM is a big company and sometimes people are not as well trained as they should be… The person on the chat was not correct - Ultralight is simply a browse based way to view your e-mail that is more compatible with an I-Phone. It does not transfer your mail to the I-Phone device.

You are correct, I-Phone support is a new function of Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.1. Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.1 requires and will ship with Domino 8.5.1 which is targeted for 4th quater 2009.
