Using Lotus Traveler with iPhones and cannot seem to lookup names on an address book added to directory assistance. Have modified the NTSConfig.xml file and restarted Traveler . Still cannot lookup names that are in the the secondary address book. I can lookup all names in the primary directory.
Changed this value from 40 (default) to 32 which seems to be the only value that will hunt the entire directory assistance .
Have you verified that the DA is setup correctly? Can you login to the Traveler servlet with one of the users from the secondary address book? Should not be any issues with lookup once DA is setup.
The users in the second address book can be searched using the Notes and iNotes clients. They are a group of Outlook users so there are no Notes mail files. Just the Name, Internet Address and Mail Type is set to Other.
Since they are not Notes clients, there is no HTTP password to authenticate the name to test from the traveler URL.
Seems like I should be able to search for them in an iPhone since iNotes can.
Just curious to see what happens when assigning a HTTP password to a user entry that does not have a Notes mail file with Traveler. When trying to set up a new Account Profile on the iPhone using a name on the second address book in the DA that is registered as Other mail (not Notes) I get routed out to our DOMCFG login screen. Traveler’s URl doesn’t process the login since it can’t find the mail file I assume.
Still , how do we see these entries in our DA via Traveler ?
Traveler really doesn’t do the lookup - it uses the Domino Lookup API and Domino server does the lookup. Generally do not see any issues with this. Traveler also does not do the login - that is the Domino HTTP Server. You should get the same results if you try to login to the names.nsf for example.
I am surprised that the lookup works via iNotes - possibly they are using a different interface. It shouldn’t care about mail files etc. For example we use a corporate LDAP via directory assistance. The LDAP server has no information about mail files, just user names. This works fine both for authentication and look up.
May need to open a PMR to get more help on this - may need support to look at the names.nsf and DA.nsf to see if any issues.
