Traveler 8.5.1 setup with Redirect to SSL enabled

On a Windows Mobile 6 phone, after entering my username, password and the server name in the setup, on the next screen I get ‘There was an error reading your configuration’. The log states ‘Network Operation failed with OS return code 12045’.

If I disable SSL redirection on the server I don’t have this problem. Is SSL not supported for the setup? - I don’t remember seeing that mentioned in the documentation. Thanks…

Subject: Encryption?

Hi

we had a similar problem with WM clients. They don’t support AES encryption, try disabling all of them.

Subject: Still not working

Thanks. I did try that but I get the same results.

This should work - could port 443 be blocked by your firewall? You can check by going to https://hostname/servlet/traveler from the device browser to ensure the connection is working as expected.

As work around try changing to HTTPS protocol under Advanced settings during initial registration of the device. This will use direct SSL and bypass the redirect protocol.

Thanks for your reply. I didn’t realize that I could select Menu, Advanced on the user id/password/server setup screen to open the Server settings screen. Once I changed the Sync Protocol to HTTPS I could complete the setup. This was the step I was missing. It would have been helpful if this step had been included in the documention.

Thanks again!
