Hello,Is it possible to create roaming environment that is completely transparent to user? I mean without redirecting the Notes data directory to a server share but using normal roaming users?
I want get rid of the workstation setup wizards everytime when using notes for firstime in a workstation.
Just wondering…

Caveat: I would strongly recommend that all machines which roaming users use are set up as multi-user installs!

Thanks Bruce for your reply.
I’m familiar with the roaming process in general. I was just wondering that is there any way to “automate” the user access to notes when he opens Notes for the first time in a new workstation.
Normally, when accessing Notes for the first time in a new workstation, Notes uses the “workstation setup wizard” to determine the users name, server and preferences. Is there any way to set the Notes up so that after the user has accessed he’s Notes once the setup wizard is not launched no matter what workstation he uses in the same organisation?
I know that this can be done with single user setup and redirecting the Notes data directory to a server share but this style has many other disadvantages so it’s not usable in our environment.
Thanks

As common and reasonable a question as that is, I’m pretty sure that the answer is No. Notes has always been designed under the impression that users set up their own workstations, regardless of the fact that this is an extremely rare occurrence. The only thing I can think of would be to write a client add-in that builds the required directories under the OS profile directory and then copies down a generic INI file from a file server and pulls down replicas of the current user’s bookmark, names, etc from their roaming server.
