Sometimes, when the Domino server gets kind of slow, I’m trying to see what it is doing by using the Linux ‘top’ utility. But top itself is extremely slow. It typically takes 5-15 seconds to start up, and once it does I can see that 75-80% of my CPU is utilized by… top! It doesn’t respond to any keystrokes in a timely manner and I have to Ctrl+C out of it.
I’m seeing this on all the Linux machines where I run Domino - two SLES8 servers running Domino 6.5.x and one Red Hat 7 machine running Domino 5.0.5. Am I the only one seeing this or is there a better tool for process monitoring that I should be using instead of top?
