Time Zone Issue

I have developed a button that users can copy into an e-mail to add information to a person calendar. (Much like a meeting invite but the buttons allow the users to pick which date they want to add to their calendar).

To make it simple I set-up a bunch of constants in the declaration section they users change and their done.

Two of the values they need to set are the StartTime and EndTime. I’ve trained the users to enter the FULL timezone information (including if it’s during Daylight Savings or not).

Overall it works, fine. However we have repeatly had problems with people click on the button in Australia well, it appears those in New South Wales and Victoria. Then the meeting seems to be Off by an hour.

I’ve tried to test by creating a meeting in say 1-2pm EST. Then change the timezone on my computer to NSW and for me it appears to work.

Anyone got any suggestions?

We just switched to LN7 so I want to learn more about the new timezone fields and see if this helps. Unfortunately, I’m not working with fields, so I doubt it will help much.

Thanks for reading the above posting. Happy to give more details if needed.

If you are dealing with lotusscript datetime values you may need to be working with the lslocaltime value. I have had issues working with mixed date and time values (script vs. notes client) when not using the lslocaltime value in script. Date time values can be off becasue of their relation to GMT. Hope this helps …
