Three "Little" Questions

Hi All,

I have these questions… Thanks a lot to everyone lose his time for me!

  1. it is possible to prevent a user to send mail? It should only receive.

  2. it is possible to export all the documents of configuration of the server domino?

  3. it is advisable to install Sametime in the same server where runs Domino? (a IBM 3 Ghz Bi-Processor/2GB Ram)

Thanks again,

Alex

Hi,

  1. Should be able to do this with a rule on the server. When sender contains dont accept/dont transfer

  2. names.nsf, ids, keyrings, notes.ini, copy of databases. Check the Admin help.

  3. You have to install ST on top of a Domino server.

…it must be easier to just give the user Reader Access to the mailfile…or am I missing something?

Hello Ina,

I’ve tried your suggestion, but it seems that doesn’t works… In fact I’ve changed my ACL from manager to reader and I send mail normally… Maybe I should do something else?

Thanks, Alex.

I agree with the Server rule. Setting the mail file to Reader (see next post) will only stop the client from saving to the mail file, not from sending to the Mail.box.

I suppose one could enter the client/group into the acl (as no access) for the mail.box (mail1.box, mail2.box if configured), but the rule would be much more visible/documented/easy.

Subject: Re: Q3

Sametime installs on top of Domino, so you have to run Domino on a server to install Sametime. It is advisable that Sametime run on a separate Domino server from your mail or Notes apps.
