Thoughts on iPhone interation 8.0.2

Hi

My Notes/Domino setup:

2 Domino Servers - 1 internal 7.0.2 FP2, 1 in the DMZ 8.0.2

100 Notes users

11 iPhone users (me being one of them)

Here are my thoughts after using iNotes Ultra for a couple of days:

I REALLY really like it - it is super fast and does a lot of things I wanted. The private contact list (edit and use) is really nice - I can even dial using it :o)

That being said…here’s what I find lacking:

  1. Domino Directory integration - I cannot add users from the Domino Directory (we have 2 setup, one for internal people and one for the externals) to any emails created. What I would like is the ability to select the to, cc and bcc users.

what I did here is create an agent that automatically copies the current directory (only internal) into the mail databases of my users - that way they can send mails from the contact application.

  1. Calendar integration: I cannot add anything to the calendar which basically makes it useless to me. I love being able to check my calendar (even if the Day at a Glance view isn’t always the easiest way to check these things) but not being able to book the time actually makes it useless to me.

  2. No week / month view in the calender

  3. My users are finding it confusing using the interface - they are never sure whether to use the buttons IN iNotes or to use the buttons in Safari - this will get better with time :o)

That’s it - I currently use iNotes Ultra when out of the office and now no longer carry a USB-Stick / Laptop with me wherever I go :o)

For #1. Please take a look at the 8.5 ultralite capability to “Check names” (in public beta 2). This should greatly assist in addressing.

We will explore a real name picker and ability to add calendar entries with a future release.

Subject: Thank you

HI

Thank you for taking the time to answer - I will checkout 8.5 beta 2. I think that the addressing will work for me.

Now I just would like the Calendar stuff :o)
