This name is not unique

Our users have their internal colleagues available in multiple address books – Domino Directory, a CRM database in Directory Assistance, and in their own Contacts/PAB. When addressing e-mail to these folks, either directly or as members of a group, we frequently get an ambiguous names dialogue. The address may show variously as, for example, David N Schaffer/SchafferAssoc, David N Schaffer/SchafferAssoc@SchafferAssoc or david.n.schaffer@ourinternetdomain.com, but these are all the same person and point to the same mail database.

Is there anything we can do to help Notes resolve these for us? It can be very annoying with a large group.

Subject: Same ‘not a unique name’ error

We have this issue on 8.5.1 with our company address book and the recent contacts. If the persons e-mail address is in both the document can fail to send unless you pick out one of the names (even though they are the same).

Subject: Not Unique with Notes and Internet format

I get a similar problem when it pops up with a NOTES format Name/City/Country or a name@country.ibm.com format and says the name is not unique even though it is in the same address entry and it is driving me crazy- did you ever have this issue resolved?
