This is the worst email program ever

If you have issues with program lets put it here! Let the IBM idiots understand that this program needs to be put in the trash bin where it belongs. It was never meant to be a public program and should have never been released. Too many options just for email and internet integration is a joke along with every other part of this program. I already have lost 3 months of archived emails and now have two archive files because it will not allow me to xfer files within the archive, so now I have to work with two archive files. I could go on and on on this but this is the biggest rip off email program ever. It was a hack in the beginging and its still a hack now.

Subject: wrong audience

I think the person who posted this, if they truly want to make a difference, needs to know a few things:1. This forum is not an “IBM Support” forum; it isn’t the place to go to get an answer from IBM.

  1. This is the place where Domino/Lotus Notes Admins and Developers gather. So instead of getting improvements to the “Lotus Notes email software” here, you are more likely to get people who can tell you what your company needs to do differently with how they’ve deployed the product to you.

  2. If you want to elevate your issue to IBM, your IT Dept should be able to put in a “ticket” (also known as a PMR) with IBM under their software support agreement. If they didn’t do that for you, then they are the ones that suck.

  3. Your helpdesk, or your Lotus Notes email admin, should be the one posting on here. That way, we can teach that person the technical skills to fix your issue and improve your Notes experience.

Subject: wrong audience

Not to bust your bubble but didnt care if it was the right or wrong audience, just needed to put a comment out there somewhere where someone would read it. Doubt ANY admin could improve this program havent seen it happen in 10 yrs, at least Microsoft figured it out after Windows ME eddition. The only thing harder than using Notes is getting rid of it.

Subject: perfect

And that would be exactly why.

Subject: A few questions

  1. I tend to take people that are too afraid to use their real name as trolls and potential posters from competitors.

  2. What version of Notes are you using?

  3. What version of template are you using?

  4. Do you manage the notes/Domino system, or someone else?

  5. How did you lose your archive files? Give details.

Subject: This is the worst email program ever…

  1. I tend to take people that are too afraid to use their real name as trolls and potential posters from competitors.

Well I can tell you that you that this is from a user standpoint and not a competitor. I worked for Whirlpool for many years and we switched to Lotus with ver 7 and it sucked then as it does now with ver 8

  1. What version of Notes are you using?

8.5

  1. What version of template are you using?

have no idea, why do you need to have a template for just an email program anyway?

  1. Do you manage the notes/Domino system, or someone else?

Hell no I dont manage it, I just use what corp manadates to use but I do know many of the IT people hate this piece of crap too! In all my 10 yrs of experience with this program, I have only found 1 person who really liked it and that was because he was a certified tester for the software. This is not rocket science, I have used many email prgrams and even my Comcast email account is easier to use than this piece of crap.

  1. How did you lose your archive files? Give details.

Have no clue and neither does our IT dept. I was told that if its not in the archive its gone and now I am experiencing CLFNM0198E: CSI was unable to move documents to folder: {0}

Can’t find view error which is how I found this forum. This is nothing against anyone at all this is just a frustration that continues to plague the corporations which buy into this. I was once told by an IT person that this was part of the package deal, that if you bought the Domino networking software this was part of the package as “free” so why would any company turn this down? Why would you have two programs, one for networking and then a seperate one for emails? Makes sense but if this is true then you would have to wonder why it is being given to a company for free. Oh, I have heard the stories that the corp office sets it own template and that is what is causing the problem. Well I can tell you I have used other emails and this is the only one that I have ever had so much problems with and I even spoke to an IBM employee at a trade show and asked him about the problems and he replied that he doesnt use it he uses MS Outlook. I think you would find more people out there that would agree with my statement that this is one of the worst pieces of email junk out there and IBM should be ashamed of it.

But I bet they wont agree, they dont have the high ethical standards to do so.
