When I’m accessing the notes database, some times I’m getting below error message. Pls help if anyone knows resolution for this.
‘This database is currently being used by someone else. In order to share a Notes database, all users must use a domino server instead of a File Server’

You have 2 applications on the same PC using the same DB, and one of them is Notes.
Do you have anti-virus protecting your data directory? That could be a show stopper. You should exclude your Notes data directory from anti-virus checks.
Do you have some other software, like backup software, locking files for backup? Same problem.

Thank you very much for your response.
I do not have other softwares, like backup software, locking files for backup but I have anti virus installed in my system.
I have excluded my data directory from anti-virus checks and keep it observation since this problem is not frequently coming up.
However I do not understand how my local data directory prevention comes into picture while I’m accessing the server database (which is not in my system). Could you please explain?

If the problem comes when accessing a database on the server, then you might have the same problem there. Any anti-virus or backup software locking files on the server?
I once had a customer that always used a Windows share on the Domino server to open databases. Every time he opened a database this way, it would lock it from the Domino server. I managed to talk him out of doing this.
